Wealth-Lab is the desktop tool with the broadest built-in stress tests, and it runs on Windows, with stock data for index members included in the subscription. Backtoast is first if you want the test in plain language and a payout from real trading when the strategy passes.

1Backtoast

You pay $99 for two full tests of your own strategy, and a pass is an offer of 30% of the profit Backtoast makes trading it with its own money.

2Wealth-Lab

It covers stocks, options, futures, forex and crypto, and you can build a strategy from drag-and-drop Building Blocks, write it in C#, or describe it in plain English to the AI Strategy Generator. Wealth-Data comes with the subscription and holds the Nasdaq 100, S&P 500 and DAX members back to about 1995, delisted ones included, so a test doesn't skip the companies that later dropped out of the index. Other symbols come from a provider you connect, from free daily sources to feeds such as Norgate, IQFeed and ThetaData, the last one for options.

QuantConnect runs in the cloud instead, with data that includes delisted stocks back to 1998.

Testing

Walk-forward optimization is built in, which re-fits the parameters on one stretch of history and tests them on the next, with a window that slides forward or one that grows from a fixed start. Monte Carlo-Lab, which runs randomized versions of your backtest to show the odds of reaching a profit target, is a $49.95 extension or comes with Premium. Commission can be flat per trade or per share, slippage is a percent on stocks or ticks on futures and you can apply it to limit orders too, and a volume limit caps a fill at a share of the bar's volume.

Pricing

The Lifetime License is $1,595 once with two years of updates, then $149.95 a year to keep updating. Premium is the annual plan plus every extension WealthLab builds itself, and monthly and annual payments aren't refunded. Broker connections are extensions too, $49.95 each for Interactive Brokers, Schwab, TradeStation, Alpaca, Tradier and others, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
