Terms.
These terms cover your use of Backtoast, run by Great Land Of Gems! LLC, doing business as Backtoast ("we", "us").
What Backtoast is
A backtest service. You describe a strategy, we test it on historical data, and a pass comes with a license offer. A backtest is a simulation of the past. It isn't investment advice, a forecast, or a promise that a strategy will make money, and your trading decisions are yours.
Your account
One person per account. Keep your sign-in secure, because you're responsible for what happens under your account.
Paying
$99 buys two full tests. Monthly plans include a set number of full tests each month and renew until you cancel. You can cancel any time, and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Current prices are on the price page.
Refunds
If we can't run your backtest, you get a full refund. The test goes back to your account straight away, and if you'd rather have the money, email support@backtoast.com and we refund the payment.
Your strategies
You own your strategies. You let us store and process them so we can run your tests and drafts. We don't use them to train AI models, and nobody on our team looks at them unless you license one to us.
License offers
When a full test passes, we may offer you a license. Signing is your choice. The signed license agreement sets the terms, including your 30% share of the profit we make trading the strategy. A license is non-exclusive, so you can still trade the strategy yourself, and we may never trade a strategy we license.
Fair use
Don't misuse Backtoast: no attacks, no scraping, no reselling access, and no automated use except through the API on plans that include it.
Results
We work to get data, costs and fills right, but data can have errors and a backtest can't capture everything about live markets. Results are provided as they are.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for trading losses or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms and will post the new version here. We may suspend accounts that break them. You can stop using Backtoast at any time.
