Backtoast

Golden cross and death cross

Checked

A golden cross is the 50-day average crossing above the 200-day average, and a death cross is those two averages crossing the other way. StockCharts describes that 50-and-200 pair as the usual version, on stocks and on bitcoin. Backtoast hasn't run either one.

Backtoast

You pay $99 for two full tests of your own strategy, and a pass is an offer of 30% of the profit Backtoast makes trading it with its own money.

Golden cross

The shorter average has been below the longer one, which is what a falling market usually looks like, and the cross is the day the 50-day closes above the 200-day, which is where people buy. Both averages are simple averages of the daily close, and write-ups use other lengths too, and this page means 50 and 200. You can write that pair in drafting a strategy.

Death cross

A death cross is the 50-day average crossing below the 200-day, and people sell on that cross, or they go short.

Other averages

The 10 month moving average strategy is Faber's monthly rule, and the bitcoin moving average page ran the 20-day average.
